Qigong massage is one of the oldest methods of healing, built upon five thousand years of study and a highly refined, solid theoretical foundation. Used to improve health, slow down aging, and prevent and treat many types of illnesses, Qigong massage is a vast healing science, and it is the root of many other popular forms of massage therapy. Qigong massage when performed regularly, has been shown to greatly improve mood and behavior, sleeping patterns, and language and social skills. This massage is performed both as a self-massage and by a therapist on the person.
Self-massage in Qigong focuses on the ears, hands, and feet, as these areas have reflexes to the entire body and organ system. Also, another Qigong exercise is to gather energy from earth and sky, then feed it into the meridian system guiding it down the back of the body meridians, then up the front of the body meridians.
